Burkina Faso: The PREE project held its 2nd session of the Steering Committee

The 2nd session of the Steering Committee of the project “Regional Partnership on Water and Environment in Central and West Africa” (PREE) was held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on June 10, 2020. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Djeri Alassami, representative of ECOWAS.

The thirty or so participants were representatives of national technical ministries in charge of environmental and water resources management; transboundary basin organizations; sub-regional integration organizations; regional scientific institutions; the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Various points were discussed, including the review of the status of implementation of the recommendations of the 1st session of the steering committee; the review and adoption of the status of progress of the EPRP and the annual work plan and budget 2021.

At the end of the discussions, several recommendations and suggestions were made for the continuation of the EPRP program, including the organization of an extraordinary steering committee scheduled for July 27 and 28, 2021.
